Bug reports, feature requests, case dimension corrections, requests for new case formats — all welcome. CoverStitch is a small project run by one person, so feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next.
The most useful feedback comes from collectors actually using the tool — things that worked well, things that didn't, and gaps that would make CoverStitch genuinely more useful. Here are the kinds of messages I respond to fastest:
Bug reports
Something broken, slow, or behaving wrong. Include browser + OS, what you did, and what happened vs what you expected.
Feature requests
Something missing that would make your workflow easier. Even rough ideas — "I wish it could X" is enough to start a conversation.
Dimension corrections
If a preset doesn't quite match your specific case, tell me. Include the format, your measurements, and what's off — I'll verify and update.
New case formats
Currently missing GameCube, Xbox-original, or PC big-box presets. If you'd use one, request it — popular requests get added.
Useful info to include in a bug report
The more context, the faster I can fix it. Helpful things to mention:
Browser name and version (Chrome 130, Firefox 129, Safari 18, etc.)
Operating system (Windows 11, macOS 14, Linux)
Which mode you were using (Single, Batch, Visual Batch)
Which case preset you selected, if any
What you did, what you expected to happen, what actually happened
Any error messages from the browser console (F12 → Console tab)
Quick FAQ Before You Email
Most questions I get are variations of a handful of common ones. If your question is on this list, you'll get an answer faster by reading the answer here than by waiting for an email reply.
95% of the time this is because "Fit to Page" or "Scale to Fit" was enabled in the print dialog. Reprint at exactly 100% / Actual Size with no scaling. The other 5% is using the wrong preset (PS2 vs PS5, Switch vs Blu-ray) or having a non-standard case variant. See the printing guide for full troubleshooting.
No. CoverStitch processes everything locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Open browser DevTools (F12) → Network tab while using the tool — you'll see no requests carrying your image data. Your scans never leave your device.
Probably yes, if the format is reasonably common and I can verify the dimensions from physical samples or reliable references. Send the format name, exact dimensions in millimetres (front cover width × height, spine width), and ideally a photo or link confirming the measurements. GameCube, original Xbox, PC big-box, and PS1 long-box are the most-requested missing presets right now.
This was a bug in earlier versions of the batch mode and should be fixed in the current build. If you're still seeing it, send a bug report with your browser version and which mode (Single, Batch, Visual Batch) you were using. Include a screenshot of the result if possible.
No need — there's no donation page, no Patreon, no "buy me a coffee" link. Hosting costs are covered by the single AdSense unit on each page. The most useful thing you can do is tell another collector about the tool. If you have a YouTube channel or write about collecting, a link or mention reaches the right audience for free.
No. The whole premise is that a tool this simple shouldn't cost anything. There will never be a paid tier, a watermark to remove, or a premium preset. See the about page for the longer version of why.
CoverStitch itself is free to use however you like, including commercially. However, the cover artwork you stitch usually belongs to game publishers, studios, or other rights holders — using it commercially (selling printed covers, for example) would be a copyright issue between you and the rights holder, not something CoverStitch is involved in. For personal use restoring or curating your own collection, no rights issue arises.
The source is just one HTML file — view-source on the page shows everything. There's no public repo right now, but if there's enough interest in contributions I'm open to publishing it on GitHub. Email me if that would be useful for you.
